The marked price of an article is Rs 500. The shopkeeper gives a discount of 5% and still makes
a profit of 25%. Find the cost price of the article.
And also mention all the steps ..

The MP = Rs 500
Discount%= 5
Discount= 5/100× 500
= Rs 25

SP = Rs (500+25)
= Rs 525

Let the CP be Rs 100
SP = 100-25= 125

If SP is Rs 125, then CP = Rs 100
If SP is Rs 1 , then CP = Rs 100/125
If SP is Rs 525 , then CP= Rs 100/125 × 525
= 100/5 × 21
= 20× 21= Rs 420
