Answer: 60 cm

Explanation:

Given, v=2 u⇒1st equation

          R=40 cm

we know that R=2 f

therefore, f=R/2

                 f=40/2

                 f=20 cm

by applying mirror formula,

  1/f=1/v+1/u

 1/f =1/2u + 1/u (from equation 1)

 1/20=(u+2u)/2u²

1/20= 3u/2u²

1/20=3/2u

2u=3×20

u=(3×20)/2

u=3×10

u=30 cm

from equation 1 we know that,

v=2u

∴ v=2×30

   v=60 cm
