hiii!!!
here's ur answer...
given that the parallel sides of the trapezium are in ratio 2:3
let the parallel sides be 2x and 3x.
b1 = 2x, b2 = 3x
height ( distance between the parallel sides ) of the trapezium is 16cm.
area of the trapezium = 320cm²
therefore 1/2 × h ( b1 + b2 ) = 320cm²
==> 1/2 × 16 ( 2x + 3x ) = 320cm²
==> 8 × 5x = 320cm²
==> 5x = 320/8
==> 5x = 40
==> x = 40/5
==> x = 8cm
hence, b1 = 2x
= 2 × 8
= 16cm
b2 = 3x
= 3 × 8
= 24cm
VERIFICATION :-
area of the trapezium = 1/2 × h ( b1 + b2 )
= 1/2 × 16 ( 16 + 24 )
= 8 × 40
= 320cm²
hence verified
thus the Length of the parallel sides are 16cm and 24cm
hope this helps...!!
