Rate of diffusion of helium and methane:

\frac{Y_{He}}{Y_CH_{4}}=\sqrt{\frac{M_CH_{4}}{M_{He}}}

Here,

{Y_{CH_{4}}=Rate of diffusion of CH_{4}

{Y_{He}}=Rate of diffusion of He

{M_{CH_{4}}=Mass of CH_{4}=16

{M_{He}}=Mass  of He=4

Putting the values in the above equation

\frac{Y_{He}}{Y_CH_{4}}=\sqrt{\frac{16}{4}}

                                             =2

Rate of diffusion of helium and methane is 2.
