difference between ratios =7- 4=3
3 ratio = 270 m
so 1 ratio = 270/3= 90
so length = 7 ×90 =630m

Dear Student,

● Answer -

Length of the race tract = 630 m

● Explanation -

Suppose, p and q be speeds of P and Q respectively.

Given that ratio of speeds of P and Q is 4:7.

p/q = 4/7

p = 4q/7

And also P loses the race by 270 metres.

q - p = 270

q - 4q/7 = 270

3q/7 = 270

q = 270 × 7/3

q = 630 m

As Q reaches at end post first, his run will be equal to length of the tract.

Hence, length of the tract is 630 m.
