The reason for the poverty in India:

As per World Bank, the government of India failed to tackle poverty because of the ever-rising widespread corruption and inefficient and faulty government administration.

Explanation:

  • India has been tackling the problem of poverty since the times of pre-independence and even after repeated attempts of the government and the launch of a large number of poverty eradication schemes, success has eluded them and the poverty in India has existed.
  • The reasons can be due to the widespread corruption in the political system and bureaucracy of the country, improper administration of the government, overpopulation and the lack of education.
