new salary = ₹9936

also, new salary = 15% of X + X

therefore,

15% of X + X = 9936

15/100 × X + X = 9936

3/20 × X + X = 9936

3X/20 + X = 9936

(3X + 20X)/ 20 = 9936

23X/20 = 9936

23X = 9936 × 20

23X = 198,720

X = 198,720/23

X = 8640

therefore Initial salary of the person = ₹8640
