Profit = 12%of cp =3cp/25

profit = sp - cp
12% of cp = sp - cp
12/100*cp = sp - cp
3cp/25 = sp - cp
sp - cp = 3cp/25
sp = 3cp/25+cp
sp =3cp/25+25cp/25
sp = 28cp/25

According to question,
53cp/3 = 616
sp = cp + profit
616 = cp + 3cp/25
616 = 28cp/25
cp = 616*25/28
cp = 550

Therefore, cp with tax = 550rs

cp = cp -.tax
cp = 550-10%of550
cp= 550- 10/100*550
cp =550 - 55
cp = 495

Here, cost price = 495 rupees.
