Solution

Let numerator be x

And,denominator be y

ATQ,

=> x+y = 12

=> x = 12-y ...... (1)

Now,According to second condition.

=> x+1 /y+1 = 3/4

=> (12 -y ) +1 / y+1 = 3/4

=> 13-y / y+1 = 3/4

=> 52 - 4y = 3y + 3

=> -7y = -49

=> y = 7

putting the value of y in 1 .we get

=> x = 12-7

=> x = 5

so,fraction is 5/7
