Hey
Let the two numbers be x and y .
Now ,
x + y = 7
=> x = 7 - y
And ,
difference = x - y
A / q ,
x + y = 7 ( x - y )
Because sum is 7 times their difference .
=> x + y = 7x - 7y
=> 7x - x - 7y - y = 0
=> 6x - 8y = 0
=> 2 ( 3x - 4y ) = 0
=> 3x - 4y = 0
putting the value of x in this eq , we get
=> 3 ( 7 - y ) - 4 y = 0
=> 21 - 3y - 4y = 0
=> - 7y = -21
=> y = 3 .
So ,
x = 7 - y
= 7 - 3
= 4
thanks :)
