x+x-6=100

2x-6=100

2x=100-6

2x=94

x=94/2

x=47

Heya...

Let the numbers be 'x' and 'y'..

By given data..,

x + y = 100....( i ) and

x - y = 6... ( ii )

the equation ( ii ) can be written as x = 6 + y.... ( iii )

By substituting ( iii ) in ( i )...

6 + 2y = 100

2y = 100 - 6

y = 94/2 = 47...

So the numbers are 47 and 53 ( 47 + 6 )
