LSA = 4.4

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • Circumference of the base of a right circular cylinder is 220 cm.
  • Height of the cylinder is 2 m.

To Find:

  • What is the the lateral surface area of the cylinder ?

Solution: Circumference of base is 220 cm i.e

➯ 2πr = 220

\implies{\rm } 2 x 22/7 x r = 220

\implies{\rm } 44r/7 = 220

\implies{\rm } r = 220 x 7/44

\implies{\rm } r = 1540/44

\implies{\rm } r = 35 cm.

Radius of cylinder in metre = 35 x 1/100 = 0.35 m

Now, we have ,

Radius = 0.35 m & Height = 2 m. Therefore, lateral surface area of cylinder➯

LSA of Cylinder = 2πrh

\implies{\rm } LSA = ( 2 x 22/7 x 0.35 x 2 )

\implies{\rm } ( 44/7 x 0.7 )

\implies{\rm } ( 44/7 x 7/10 )

\implies{\rm } ( 308/70 )

\implies{\rm } 4.4

Hence, the lateral surface area of the right circular cylinder is 4.4 m².
