two identical spheres having charge 16 and -8 are kept certain distance apart then the force is F. they are touchedand again kept at same distance, the force becomes?

Initially, the force F =k q_{1}  q_{2} / r^{2} = k (16)(-8)/  r^{2}
When they are touched, the charge on each one of them becomes equal to ( q_{1} + q_{2} )/2 = 4
Force = k(4)(4)/ r^{2} = -F/8
