Answer:

Let the third number be 100

The first number is 70 and second number is 63.

% the second number is less than the first

(70−63)

To find:-

  • percent is the second number less than the first.

Solution:-

Let,

  • the third number be x.

Then the first number:-

→ (100 - 30)℅ of x

→ 70℅ of x

→ 7x/10

Difference:-

→ 7x/10 - 63x/100

→ 7x/10

So,

  • required percentage is, difference is what percent of first number

→ (7x/100 × 10/7x × 100)℅

10℅

Hence,

  • Percent is the second number less than the first is 10.
