Let the nos. be 3x and 7x respectively.
When each no. is increased by 3, the ratio becomes 1 : 2.
ATQ,
(3x + 3)/(7x + 3) = 1/2
1 × (7x + 3) = 2 × (3x + 3)
7x + 3 = 6x + 6
7x - 6x = 6 - 3
x = 3
Therefore, The nos. are 3x = 3 × 3 = 9
and 7x = 7 × 3 = 21

Hence, the greater no. will be (d) 21

Hope it helps.
