Lhs of equation
7x+3y
=7(2)+3(-1) [putting x=2 and y=-1]
=14-3
=11=Rhs

substitute x=2 and y=-1 in 7x + 3y.
if LHS = RHS they are solutions.
7x+3y=7(2)+3(-1)
= 14-3
= 11
hence they are solutions as LHS = RHS
