On slippery surfaces, the friction is comparatively less than on other surfaces. So, as the friction between your shoes/sandals and the floor is quite low, your footwear does not get enough grip on the floor and you can slip.

Hey Friend !
Friction depends on the roughness of the surface.
When the surface is rough , friction is more.
When the surface is smooth , friction is less.
It is easier for us to walk when the ground is not slippery , as friction is more.
Its difficult to walk on a slippery ground , as the surface is very smooth and friction is less.
