The water level in wells changes constantly.

It depends on various factors.

Sometimes we may observe that the water level of a well changes over a very short period of time and sometimes it takes a longer period.

In some wells water level changes depending on the season.

Pumping out too much water for irrigation and other purposes may also decrease the water level in a very short period of time.

It also decreases the water level of nearby wells.

Sometimes people withdraw water at a much faster rate than the water refills the aquifer thus causing a drop in water level.

The groundwater level depends on how fast water can refill the aquifer.

The factors to consider here is the type of soil present underground, how penetrable and absorbent the soil is.
