definite article is "THE" used to specific person or one thing
ex:the principal,the sun ,
indefinite article: A and AN
AN is used before vowel sounds
A is used before singular noun
ex:a boy, a girl

A is used before a word beginning with a consonant sound. example- a dog, a book.
An is used before a word beginning with a vowel sound. example- an aeroplane, an umbrella

The is called definite article.
The is used before the name of any great thing or person or place. example- the Taj Mahal, The Great Britain.
