Mixtures which are not uniform in composition and the each compound is made of different matter are known as heterogeneous mixtures.
Eg. Sand and water
Chalk and water

Heterogeneous Mixture

⇒A mixture is said to be heterogeneous if it does not have a uniform                  composition throughout and has visible boundaries of separation between      the various constituents .

⇒The different constituents of heterogeneous mixture can be seen with             naked eye.
