Plz answer it to the point
Answers
Angle of deviation
The factors upon which angle of deviation depends are as follows :-
(i) Angle of incidence
⇒ The angle of deviation first decreases with increase in angle of incidence and then after reaching a minimum value , it again starts increasing .
(ii) Refractive index of the prism
⇒ The angle of deviation is directly proportional to the refractive index .
(iii) Angle of the prism
⇒ The angle of deviation is directly proportional to the angle of the prism .
(iv) Wavelength of the light ray
⇒ The angle of deviation is inversely proportional to the wavelength of the light ray .
Shift in refraction
(i) Refractive index
⇒ Shift is directly proportional to the refractive index of the medium .
(ii) Thickness of the medium
⇒ Shift is directly proportional to the thickness of the medium .
(iii) Wavelength of light
⇒ Shift is inversely proportional to the wavelength of the light .
Critical angle
(i) Wavelength of light
⇒ Critical angle is directly proportional to the wavelength of light .
(ii) Temperature
⇒ Critical angle is directly proportional to the temperature .
Hope it helps :-)
