Answer:

"Xylem" is a type of "vascular tissue" in plants. Function of xylem is that it transports water and dissolved substances to different parts of the plant like "roots, stems and leaves". It also provides support and acts as storage unit of the plant.

The components of xylem are

Tracheid

• Vessels

• Parenchyma

• Fibers

Functions of components of xylem are:

Xylem Tracheid’s form the conductive cells. The structure of these cells is  elongated  with tapered ends.

Xylem vessels provide rigidity to the cell wall and are generally found in flowering plants.

Xylem Parenchyma does the storage and secretion and the cells of this component are living.

Xylem Fibers provided support to the plant. It is somewhere in between parenchyma and tracheids.
