And I’d say a third is that it can be powder or liquid form (just boil silver nitrate liquid and you’ll be left with crystals)

Antibiotic Properties: As Russell mentioned, you can use it for small wounds to keep it clean. Some developing nations are beginning to use it in dental work as well, although it will stain the teeth.

Photoreactive: (Henna-like tattoos, painting, photography, detection powder, secret messages, maybe) Silver nitrate turns black when it’s exposed to light. So, spill it on your skin, your skin is stained black—the good news is that it’ll go away when your skin replenishes in a few weeks. To that end, if you wanted a cool black-art tattoo, but didn’t want it forever, you could use silver nitrate. It won’t stain immediately, so be sure you stand out in light after you apply it.
