Why does it take so long for the Internet to open when I double-click on Internet Explorer?

Without that answer I would say If you use a dial-up connecting to the Internet can take a very long time.

Alternatively...

the Home Page you have chosen may always take a long time to open.

Maybe you should change your Home Page.

If none of that works I would get someone in to look at your computer to see if it needs some fine-tuning.
