If a metal plate of thickness t is introduced between the plates, then the effective distance between the plates will be reduced to d-t. Hence c' = e0A/d-t. Hence the capacitance increases.

C=Aε/∑(ti/ki)
A= area of single plate of capacitor
ε= permittivity of free space
t=length of dielectric
k=di-electric constant of di-electric
For a single di-electric of di-electric constant k,
C' = kC
TLDR
The capacitance is increased to k times.
