When sodium carbonate is added into acetic acid or ethanoic acid it gives a sodium salt which is sodium ethanoate, brisk effervesence carbon dioxide and water

2CH3COOH + Na2CO3 ---------> 2CH3COONa + CO2 + H2O

This gas (CO2) can also be check by passing through slake limewater (Carbon Hydroxide) which turns it milky

#OBSERVATION
i. a brisk effervesence is observed
ii. an odourless and colourless carbon dioxide is released
