The sodium chloride solution in water is known as a hypotonic solution.
When NaCl is mixed with RBC's erythrocytes then osmosis that means movement of water molecule from a higher concentration to lower concentration takes place and the cells swell up and finally burst.
Hence it is the required observation.
Hope it helps!!!
