A candle flame is a flame caused by a wick covered with wax, which burns when ignited with matches or any other source of heat.

The wick continues to burn using the wax as a support factor for it. It uses the wax to continue burning and also eventually burns the thread in it, as seen at the wick.

Flame is caused because a vapour due to the wax which after melting acts as a fuel. Once vaporized, the fuel combines with oxygen in the atmosphere to ignite and form a constant flame.
