Difference between speed and velocity are as follows :
1. Velocity has direction and Speed is non directional.
2. Velocity follows vector law of algebra but speed do not.
3. Velocity can be +ve, -ve or zero but speed is non negative.
4. Velocity is vector quantity but speed is scaler quantity.

THE BASIC DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SPEED AND VELOCITY IS:
1.SPEED HAS ONLY MAGNITUDE AND NO DIRECTION WHEREAS VELOCITY HAS BOTH MAGNITUDE AND DIRECTION.
2.SPEED IS ALWAYS POSITIVE(THAT IS NON - NEGATIVE AND NON-ZERO) WHEREAS VELOCITY IS EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE.
3.SPEED IS SCALAR QUANTITY AND VELOCITY IS VECTOR QUANTITY.
4.SPEED IS CALCULATED ON DISTANCE AND VELOCITY ON DISPLACEMENT.
5.SPEED DOES NOT FOLLOW VECTOR LAWS OF ALGEBRA WHEREAS VELOCITY DOES.......
