Stars are huge glowing balls of hot gases mainly hydrogen. All stars are gaint balls of hydrogen gas and this includes our sun which is a medium sized star.At the centre of this hydrogen cloud the temperature is from 2millions to 5 million degree Celsius .At such high temperature the hydrogen gas fuses to form heavier gases called helium with the liberation of huge amount of heat and light. Thus it is the fusion of this hydrogen cloud within the core of the star which emits light energy.
