  1. Cardiac cycle-  it is complete cycle of the beating of a human heart which begins with one beat and ends with another beat. it consists of two periods - diastole and systole.
  2. Diastole - it refers to the stage during the cardiac cycle, where the heart muscle relaxes and the blood refills the heart. this last around 0.5 second.
  3. systole - it refers to the stage during the cardiac cycle, where the heart muscles contract and blood is pumped . this lats for 0.1 second where both the atria contracts and pump blood.
