Node

Internodes

1. The point of attachment of the leaf is called node.

The portion between the two nodes is known as the internode.

Identified by the presence of scars or buds, leaves or branches in this region.

Absence of scars or any parts such as buds, leaves, branches.

Nodes are regions of great cellular activity and growth.

The activity of cells in the internode maximize the distance between the nodes there by increases the length of the plant.

Answer:

The node is the point of attachment of leave to the stem while the internode is the distance between the two nodes.

Node consists of axillary buds, which can further be developed in to flower or branches while internode act to elongate the stem.

Nodes play an important role in originating leaves and holding it up right in order to capture light and length and internode determine the height of the plant which varies from one plant species to another plant species.
