Ice cream is just a mixture of cream and/or milk, sugar and sometimes eggs that is frozen while being churned to create a frozen product. It's often combined with fruits or other ingredients and flavors. It is typically sweetened with sucrose corn syrup, cane sugar, beet sugar and/or other sweeteners. Typically flavorings and colorings are added in addition to stabilizers. The mixture is stirred to incorporate air spaces and cooled below the freezing point of water to prevent ice crystals from forming. As a result, you have a smooth semi-solid foam that is solid at very low temperatures and it becomes more malleable as its temperature increases.
