'IST' is 'Indian Standard Time'.It is 5 hours and 30 minutes ahead of 'GMT' (Greenwich Standard Time)

Richeal: There is a time lag of 2 hours between Gujarat and Arunachal Pradesh and hence to avoid confusion IST was developed. IST is 87°3E and it passes through Mirzapur in Utter Pradesh.
