Mathematics includes the study of such topics as quantity, structure, space, and change. Mathematicians seek and use patterns to formulate new conjectures; they resolve the truth or falsity of conjectures by mathematical proof.

Answer:

Mathematics includes the study of: Numbers: how things can be counted.

Mathematics is the study of topics such as quantity (numbers), structure, space and change. There is a range of views among mathematicians and philosophers as to the exact scope and definition of mathematics. The research required to solve mathematical problems can take years or even centuries of sustained inquiry.

However, calculus seems to be the hardest subject of them all. It works a small bit like Algebra, with the equations and such, but without the varying numbers, and it also works with many different, new concepts. The most difficult for me is the branch of mathematics - geometry.
