in which case the resultant resistance is:
1= less.
2=more than either of the individual resistance.

series
the combinedresistance of any no. of resistances connected in series is equal to the sum of the individual resistances
parallel
the reciprocal of the combined of a no. of resistances connected in parallel is equal to the sum of the reciprocal of all individual resistances
1st case
resistances are in parallel
2nd case
resistances are in series
the combinedresistance of any no. of resistances connected in series is equal to the sum of the individual resistances
parallel
the reciprocal of the combined of a no. of resistances connected in parallel is equal to the sum of the reciprocal of all individual resistances
1st case
resistances are in parallel
2nd case
resistances are in series

1) A series circuit is a circuit in which resistors are arranged in a chain, so the current has only one path to take.
The current is the same through each resistor. The total resistance of the circuit is found by simply adding up the resistance values of the individual resistors
equivalent resistance of resistors in series The current flows through each resistor in turn. ■ R = R1 + R2 + R3 + ...............
■Current remains constant but voltage varies
2) A parallel circuit is a closed circuit in which the current divides into two or more paths before recombining to complete the circuit. Each load has connected in a separate paths receives the full circuit voltage and the total current is equal to sum of the individual branch currents. ■ 1/Rp= 1/R1+1/R2+1/R3..........
■ voltage remains constant but current varies.
