Some examples of anaerobic respiration include alcohol fermentation, lactic acid fermentationand in decomposition of organic matter. The equation is: glucose + enzymes = carbon dioxide + ethanol / lactic acid. Though it does not produce as much energy as aerobic respiration, it gets the job done.

Dear Student,
◆ Respiration -
- Respiration (cellular) is a set of chemical reactions that breaks down nutrients in a living cell to release energy.
● Aerobic respiration -
- Aerobic respiration takes place in presence of oxygen.
- In this reaction, glucose and oxygen are converted into water and carbon dioxide.
Glucose + Oxygen --> Carbon dioxide + Water + ATP
C6H12O6 + 6 O2 --> 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + 38 ATP
● Anaerobic respiration -
- Anaerobic respiration takes place in absence of oxygen.
- In this reaction, glucose is converted to lactic acid.
Glucose --> Lactate + ATP
C6H12O6 --> 2 C3H6O3 + 2 ATP
Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
