Scalar quantities are physical quantities that are represented only by their magnitude..
For example- mass, distance, speed, etc

SCALAR QUANTITY -

The quantity is either a vector or a scalar . 
Scalar quantity is a one dimensional measurement of some particular quantity . These  scalar quantity has only magnitude change they do not have any direction. 
Example - Temperature , Volume , Speed and temperature , etc .
