what is the difference between absorption and emission spectrum

The difference between absorption and emission spectra are thatabsorption lines are where light has been absorbed by the atom thus you see a dip in the spectrum whereasemission spectra have spikes in thespectra due to atoms releasing photons at those wavelengths.
