Interkinesis is a period of rest that cells of some species enter during meiosis I and meiosis II. During interkinesis the single spindle of the first meiotic division disassembles and the microtubules reassemble into two new spindles for the second meiotic division. Interkinesis follows prophase, metaphase anaphase and telophase.
Interphase is the longest of cell cycle and consists of three stages - the Gap 1, Synthesis(S phase) , and Gap 2 phase.
