A transitive verb is one that is used with an object: a noun, phrase, or pronoun that refers to the person or thing that is affected by the action of the verb. In the following sentences, admire, maintain, face, and love are transitive verbs:example

1.I admire your courage.

2.We need to maintain product quality

An intransitive verb does not have an object. In the following sentences, cry, work, laugh, and talk are intransitive verbs:

1.The baby was crying.

2.I work for a large firm in Paris.

Transitive verb has a direct object nd intransitive verb doesn't have a direct object

(Ask 'what /whom' to 'subject +verb', if u get an answer, then it's a transitive verb but if you don't get an answer then its intransitive verb)

(eg) She was crying all day long.... She is the subject and was crying is the verb......Then we have to ask what to the subject +verb... question :-She was crying what?...the question doesn't make any sense... therefore it's intransitive.

(eg) The doctor advised me to sleep

question :- the doctor advised whom... then the ans we will get is ME.

(here we had used whom instead of what)

The main trick to make Transitive and Intransitive verb easy is.... TO ASK 'WHAT / WHOM' TO 'SUBJECT + VERB', IF U GET THE ANS THEN IT'S TRANSITIVE ND IF DON'T THEN ITS INTRANSITIVE
