Daily use articles like dry cells, car batteries, bleaching powder, detergents, toilet cleaners like muriatic acid etc can be hazardous for the human body, especially for the skin and eyes. After their use or expiry, if these articles are thrown around, the soil could get contaminated. Another hazardous article could be incense sticks or agarbattis if not made from the right chemicals, especially in the homes of people suffering from asthma; similarly, certain aerosol sprays and lotions could also be harmful for the respiratory function as well as the skin.
The simple explanation for these chemicals to be called hazardous in the daily lives of individuals is because of the acids, alkalies, phosphates, phthalates etc. that they have either been made from or contain in them.
