Lactobacillus is a most commonly found bacteria in milk, yogurt and other dairy products.
They are rod shaped, non-spore forming, gram positive bacteria.
We can observe them by making a slide of yogurt:
-Take a glass slide and put a drop of diluted yogurt on it, make a smear for 2 to 3 secs on the slide.
-Add a drop of methylene blue on the slide.
-Cover the slide with a cover slip.
-Place it under the compound microscope
- You will observe the rod shaped lactobacilli in it.
