Thanks for the question!
Punjab Government has bagged two prominent national awards ---- one for safe deliveries & other for reducing Infant Mortality Rate (IMR).
These awards were presented during the National Summit on Good and Replicable Practices and Innovations in Public Health Systems in India. It was organised in Shimla between July 2 to 4, 2015.
The Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in the state has sharply reduced by 18 points i.e. it was 44 in 2005 and it reached in 26 in 2013 (as per SRS data).
Neo-natal mortality rate i.e. death of infants within one month of birth has also reduced by 12 points from 28 (2008) to 16 (2013).
Hope it helps and solves your query too!
