If water is used in instead of immersion oil under 100 x objective lens Then there would be proper focusing of the image by the lens.
Explanation:
- A light microscope uses Three Types of magnification of the image. They are 10 x magnification 50 X magnification and hundred times magnification.
- In case of hundred times magnification we use a special type of soil which is used to reflect the rays of light and focus light on the other side of the lens.
- However if water is used in place of the soil then the refractive index of water will not be equal to that of the oil and hence there will be no focusing off the light.
