On Earth, plants remove carbon dioxide through the process of photosynthesis. The plants take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen. However, in a spacecraft, carbon dioxide must be removed from the cabin airthrough chemical processes.

if carbon dioxide is removed from air we were unable to live on earth because we need oxygen to live and we get oxygen from plant and plant need carbon dioxide up live..and if there is no carbon dioxide in the air than plant cannot breathe and if plant cannot breathe we can't get oxygen and if we can get oxygen we will die..
