The correct answer is Myanmar

Explanation:

  • In 1948, Myanmar declared its democratic independence.
  • However, it came under military dictatorship after the military coup in 1962.
  • 2010 saw the holding of national elections and the installation of the civilian administration.
  • In 2011, the military junta was formally overthrown.
  • The restoration of democracy has improved its human rights and international relations records.
  • But the persecution of ethnic minorities by the Myanmar government continues to draw harsh criticism from Western countries.
  • It is undemocratic since the military had Aung San Suu Kyi jailed and put under house arrest after the people elected her to be their president.
  • They continue to impose their military dictatorship on the populace in defiance of her request for power transfer.
