Since biological fluids such as semen, saliva, urine, and other fluoresce, and any of these fluids could find their way onto the fingertips that leave fingerprints at crime scenes. Fluorescence can make an "invisible" or latent fingerprint apparent. Then, it can be captured on camera for later comparison with prints left by suspects and other people. Therefore, ultraviolet radiation is used to examine the fingerprints.
