Jimmy "B. Rabbit" Smith Jr. is a major character in the 2002 movie, "8 Mile". Jimmy is portrayed by Marshall Bruce Mathers III. The character of B. Rabbit is in fact based on the person Marshall Mathers was in the late 1990s when he was in his early twenties. 8 Mile is set within the autumn of 1995 and tells the story of Smith who is a 22 year old White-American male living with his very young sister, their alcoholic mother and her abusive boyfriend in a rundown trailer home north of the Michigan highway M-102.
