Chere Asa Gram (The Abandoned Village) is a collection of after-partition stories of Hindu-Bengalis from various villages.
It was originally written as a series in a Bengali newspaper and was put together as a book in 1975 by Dakshinaranjan Basu, a Kolkata based journalist.
The books showcase the memories of several individuals whose names are not mentioned from sixty-seven native villages of East Bengal.
It beautifully brings out the emotions tied to the tragedy faced by them during the Indian Partition."
